The 2024 Southwest Nationals were held February 14-18 at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility in Phoenix, AZ. Hosted by the Desert Sharpshooters Rifle Club, the prestigious Southwest Nationals is the “must-attend” event for competitive long-range shooters around the world. The Southwest Nationals features F-Open, F-TR, and Sling disciplines. Competitors from over 5 different countries were in attendance.
Skaret competed with rifles chambered in a 308 Winchester and 6.5 Creedmoor to score a grand aggregate of 1242-74X. Skaret commented, “With the Berger 153.5gr LR Hybrid paired with Vihtavuori N160 and a Lapua 6.5 Creedmoor SRP Case, I was able to shoot an 200-18x in the first 1000yard match on Saturday, leading to my 2nd place finish.”

In addition, Skaret competed in the team competition with the “Brits Abroad” team, scoring a 2573-112X to win the team aggregate. Team members were Justin Skaret, Jemima Hince, Jonathan Cload, Tom Ryland, and Toby Raincock.
