The Legacy of Walt Berger

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Walter Berger. Walt died peacefully, surrounded by friends and family on Sunday afternoon, 19 September 2021. Walt was a man of integrity who held himself to the highest standards and imbued the company that bore his name – Berger Bullets & Ammunition - with these same values. Berger’s Missy Gilliland Wins Top Lady in multiple PRS Series

Berger would like to congratulate our very own Team Berger member, Missy Gilliland, on winning Top Lady in both the Alabama Precision Series and the MasterPiece Arms (MPA) series. Gilliland took the gold using her GA Precision 6mm Creedmoor rifle loaded with Berger 6mm 105 grain hybrid target bullets. The Alabama Precision Series Finale, which is part of the Southeastern PRS match race, was held July 24th in Carbon Hill, AL.  MPA’s Regional Series Finale was hosted by the Arena Training Facility in Blakely, GA on August 7, 2021. Berger Issues Safety Notice for 223 Remington 77 Grain OTM Tactical Ammunition Lot 2745

Berger’s Load Development Team has determined that some 223 Remington 77 Grain OTM Tactical (Product # 65-23030) cartridges from Lot # P002745, P002745-1, P002745-2 & P002745-3 may cause function/ignition issues with AR-style gas operating platforms. Bolt action rifles are not affected. Berger Ammunition Lot # P002745, P002745-1, P002745-2 & P002745-3 223 Remington 77 Grain OTM Tactical ammunition, Item #65-23030 was shipped to retailers on April 2nd, 2021 to April 22nd, 2021. Lou Murdica Wins California State Championship

Congrats to Lou Murdica on taking the win at the California Benchrest State Championships, which were presented by the Visalia Sportsmen's Association on March 27th and April 18th! Lou, a close personal friend of Walt Berger and a Team Berger Member, took the win with a grand aggregate of only 0.299 inches! For those of you unfamiliar with benchrest shooting, their goal is to get the smallest group possible in each match. Over the course of 20 matches in total, Lou's grand agg was 0.299 inches. Ken Sanoski takes first place in 2021 Hornady Precision Rifle Challenge

Congrats to Ken Sanoski (a Berger sponsored shooter) who claimed the top place at the 2021 Hornady Precision Rifle Challenge PRS Match! The 2021 Hornady Precision Rifle Challenge was held on July 9th through the 10th, just outside of Evanston, WY on a private range. Ken took the win with his Exodus rifle chambered in 6mm Dasher with Berger 109 Grain Long Range Hybrid Target (LRHT) bullets. Bryan Litz Wins 2021 Nightforce ELR Challenge with Berger Bullets

Congrats to our very own Bryan Litz for winning the 2021 Nightforce ELR Steel Challenge! Bryan, Chief Ballistician at Berger, competed against more than 200 other competitors on June 12-13 at the Tillard 55 Range near Casper, WY. The Nightforce ELR Steel Challenge is a challenging match, comprised of targets ranged from 700 yards to over 1.2 miles, with an average target size of only 1-MOA tall. New 1,000 Yard World Record Set With Berger Bullets

Congratulations to Charles Greer on setting TWO new world records for 1,000 yard benchrest shooting! Charles' record has now been officially recognized by the NBRSA after being thoroughly measured and scrutinized by officials. On February 13, 2021, during the Saguaro 1,000 yard benchrest match at the Tucson Rifle Club in Three Points, AZ, Charles shot the amazing group you can see in the target pictured here. Morgun King Wins 2020 NRL Championships with Berger Bullets

Congratulations to Morgun King on being crowned the 2020 National Rifle League (NRL) Champion! Morgun, a member of Team MPA, attended the 2020 NRL Championships on May 1-2, 2021. The match took place in Earlsboro, OK, where shooters engaged targets from 300 to 1,200 yards, with the majority being between 400-880 yards. Not only was the top shooter that weekend, but Morgun also came away on top in the 2020 NRL points race! Morgun shared with us, “Over the past 12-months, I’ve won a total of nine PRS/NRL matches. Dustin Flint wins 2021 Louisiana Silhouette Championships

For the third year in a row, Team Berger member, Dustin Flint, brought home the gold from the Louisiana State Silhouette Championships. The Louisiana State Silhouette Championship was held May 1-2 at the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Range in Gonzales, LA. Dustin won with a  Grand Aggregate score of 181/200, just beating out Elisabeth Steiger (2nd place) and Chris Cawthorne (3rd place). Dustin shared with us, "I'm very excited to win the Louisiana Silhouette Championship for the third straight year, especially considering the top notch competition at this year's event. Winning a championship requires a combination for shooter/spotter communication and equipment performance."
