This year’s Southwest Nationals Long Range Shooting Competition has come to an end and we are proud to say it was the best one we have seen so far. The Desert Sharpshooters and Ben Avery Range can now proudly boast that this has become the largest long range match in the country. We had over 340 shooters that attended from 41 of the United States as well as from Scotland, Ireland and Canada. This was 80 more competitors than last year! The 2015 Southwest Nationals is quickly approaching! We expect to hit our capacity of 270 shooters, and are excited to welcome shooters from Canada, Ireland and the United Kingdom, as well as all across the United States. Angelina Gonzalez and her Grandfather, Lou Murdica. These targets earned Angelina 4th place in the 2nd 100 yard Agg. This last week has been a big week for young Angelina Gonzalez. First, she turned 10 years old, then her Grandfather, Lou Murdica, took her to her first ever benchrest competition. Lou has been teaching Angelina to shoot a railgun for quite some time now, and he knew she was ready to shoot competitively at 100 yards. This past June, Eric Stecker visited with Tim McWhorter and Allen Rovig at McWhorter Custom Rifles in South Georgia to hunt some wild hogs. For several years now, McWhorter Custom Rifles have used Berger Bullets almost exclusively and they love them. As Allen said, "The performance on game and accuracy is second to none." Eric Stecker at the Southwest Nationals We are proud to announce the promotion of Eric Stecker to the position of Company President. Eric will continue to strategically lead the company to new heights while providing shooters with genuine enhancements to the rifle shooting experience. Eric started making and selling Berger bullets right out of high school, and quickly rose to become Plant Manager. After a short hiatus, Eric rejoined the Berger team when Berger was purchased by the Sheeks family in 2004.
